Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in tax compliance, planning, and reporting. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing complex tax issues, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting financial operations across various business units. Your expertise will help optimize tax strategies, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Duties

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns with precision, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Conduct detailed tax research on issues related to estate planning, securities law, and regulatory compliance accounting to inform strategic decisions.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to tax filings, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and financial statement interpretation.
• Support corporate accounting functions including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis.
• Collaborate on mergers & acquisitions by analyzing tax implications and preparing relevant reports for management review.
• Maintain accurate records of tax transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Develop comprehensive financial reports that interpret complex financial concepts for internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements across all financial processes.
• Assist in budgeting, asset management, accounts payable processing, payroll administration, and financial analysis as needed.
• Support non-profit accounting initiatives including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects and related regulatory reporting.
