Sr. Business Analyst
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with Business Unit leadership, operational staff, subject matter experts, the Division of Technology, project leadership, system integrators, vendors, and other stakeholders to support project objectives.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, interviews, requirements-gathering sessions, demonstrations, design reviews, and stakeholder review sessions.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, communicating project information effectively to both business and technical audiences.
- Assist in identifying and resolving questions, conflicts, risks, gaps, dependencies, and issues affecting project delivery.
- Maximize continuity between like kind business processes while ensuring compliance with unique legal requirements of the various Business Units.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement documentation, including stakeholder lists or engagement plans, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, action items, and decision logs.
Current-State Assessment
- Review, analyze, and document existing paper and online applications including business processes, workflows, systems, forms, reports, business rules, data inputs, manual processes, pain points, duplicative activities, compliance risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Develop current-state process maps and supporting documentation based on information obtained from business users, subject matter experts, existing documentation, and technology staff.
- Prepare current-state assessments, gap analyses, and pain point summaries to support future-state solution design.
Future-State Process Design
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to define future-state business processes within the Pega platform.
- Support business process reengineering and modernization efforts through workflow automation, improved user experience, reduced manual processing, and enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Develop and maintain future-state process maps, workflow narratives, roles and responsibilities, decision points, business rules, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure future-state designs align with client policies, enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and Pega platform capabilities.
Requirements Management
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, prioritize, and manage business, functional, non-functional, security, reporting, compliance, data, and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain business requirements documentation, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process flows, data requirements, reporting requirements, and requirements traceability matrices.
- Ensure requirements are complete, testable, traceable, approved by appropriate stakeholders, and aligned with project objectives.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification activities when utilizing Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
Pega Platform Implementation Support
- Work collaboratively with the Division of Technology, system integrators, vendors, and project teams to clarify business needs and functional requirements.
- Participate in solution design sessions and support configuration discussions related to case management, workflow automation, business rules, approvals, user roles, notifications, reporting, integrations, and operational dashboards.
- Participate in solution design reviews and validation sessions to ensure the configured Pega solution supports approved business requirements and future-state processes.
- Prepare and maintain solution design support documentation, requirements clarification materials, and solution validation documentation as assigned.
Testing, Implementation, Training, and Change Management Support
- Assist in developing test scenarios, test cases, expected results, user acceptance testing (UAT) support materials, and requirements traceability to support system validation.
- Support system testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, defect documentation, defect resolution, and traceability between business requirements and testing outcomes.
- Support implementation planning, implementation readiness assessments, stakeholder communications, production validation, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
- Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, job aids, frequently asked questions (FAQs), process documentation, implementation readiness documentation, lessons learned, and stabilization support documentation as assigned.
Potential candidate must possess the following:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably supporting technology modernization or system implementation projects.
- Experience working with business units and technology teams to gather, document, validate, and manage requirements.
- Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes, including process maps, workflow narratives, decision points, business rules, and roles and responsibilities.
- Experience developing business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, data requirements, reporting requirements, and traceability matrices.
- Experience supporting workflow modernization, case management systems, business process automation, Agile, hybrid, or iterative delivery projects.
- Strong facilitation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work with executive stakeholders, operational users, subject matter experts, developers, testers, vendors, systems integrators, and project managers.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing, defect tracking, training, implementation readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, or similar project documentation and requirements management tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with Pega platform implementations, Pega case management, workflow automation, business rules, user role configuration.
- Experience with Pega Business Architect certification or related Pega training.
- Experience with public sector or compliance-driven projects.
- Experience with legacy system modernization.
- Experience with data conversion, system integration, reporting.
- Experience with operational dashboards.
- Experience with change management practices.
