About Us
CORE Consultants is a civil engineering and land surveying firm based in Englewood and Winter Park, Colorado. Since opening in 2014, CORE has grown from an eight-person shop into a team of engineering and surveying professionals serving public and private clients across land development, public infrastructure, and energy, work that spans over 2,700 projects and 35,000+ acres planned and entitled.
CORE has been recognized nationally by Inc. Magazine, the Denver Business Journal, and Zweig Group for its team culture. The firm focuses exclusively on the civil fundamentals, grading, drainage, roadway and utility design, and land surveying, the stages of a project that set everything else up to succeed.
About the Role
Design and support land development projects across Colorado while building your technical foundation as a civil engineer.
- Design layouts: Create utility and site layouts in line with ADA and municipal standards.
- Standardize CAD processes: Apply and help standardize CORE's CAD techniques and design processes.
- Catch issues early: Flag code and design problems before submittal to reduce rework.
- Document workflows: Build and maintain process documentation for design workflows and new hires.
- Coordinate with PMs: Keep project managers current on design status and open issues.
- Grow into drainage work: Take on increasing exposure to drainage design and project inception work.
- Support our new service line: Contribute to CORE's growing utility and power drafting work alongside standard land development design.
Expected Outcomes
- Within 15 Days: Complete onboarding training, get paired with your buddy, and start applying CORE's CAD standards on assigned tasks.
- Within 30 Days: Take ownership of utility and site layout drafting, with fewer ADA and code-related redlines on your submittals.
- Within 45 Days: Contribute process documentation your team actually uses, and start taking on projects from the inception stage rather than just the middle.
Need to Have
- EIT and prior work experience: You hold your Engineer in Training certification, and this isn't your first job out of school. A bachelor's degree is enough, no master's needed.
- Any CAD experience: You've used CAD software in a past role, ideally Civil 3D or Bentley Storm/Water CAD, though any hands-on CAD background counts.
- Onsite in Englewood, CO: Mostly in-office, with one hybrid day per week (Wednesdays).
Nice to Have
- Power experience: Exposure to power or utility-related design work.
- Fast learner: Sponges up new information quickly, asks questions, and follows guidance rather than making independent calls right out of the gate.
- Sound judgment: Good engineering judgment, with the humility to know when they don't know.
Schedule
- Hours: Flexible, generally 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Onsite in Englewood, CO, with one hybrid day per week (Wednesdays).
