Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Safety Manager to lead our organization's safety initiatives across manufacturing operations. In this pivotal role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that promote a secure and compliant workplace environment. Your expertise will ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, foster a culture of safety consciousness, and mitigate risks associated with manufacturing activities. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses to identify potential risks and develop corrective action plans.
- Lead safety training sessions and development programs for employees to ensure understanding of hazard recognition, emergency procedures, first aid, CPR, and hazardous materials handling.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and occupational health standards to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation including incident reports, inspection logs, training records, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate with legal teams on workers' compensation law matters and manage workers' compensation claims efficiently.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related investigations, report writing, and regulatory inspections.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental compliance requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and legal aspects related to workplace safety.
- Strong expertise in occupational health practices, environmental health protocols, and employee health regulatory compliance standards.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent training & development skills to educate employees on safety procedures including first aid, CPR, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
- Ability to perform thorough root cause analysis and report writing for incidents or safety violations.
- Effective communication skills for conducting safety meetings, preparing detailed reports, and liaising with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in workplace safety management, with a strong record in industrial, construction, or logistics environments
- Certification in safety (OSHA 30, CHST, CSP or equivalent)
- Profiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred, not required
- Ability to travel to multiples sites if required
