Overview

Join our growing title agency as an Escrow Officer, where you'll own real estate transactions from open file to funded closing. This is a full-cycle role at a lean, fast-moving company: you'll process your own files and close them, supported by a national back-office partner that handles title search, production, and escrow accounting — so your time goes to the work that matters: clearing files, closing on time, and delivering service that keeps agents and lenders coming back. This position is ideal for an experienced title professional who wants real ownership and room to grow with a new agency, not a narrow seat on an assembly line.

Responsibilities

• Own a pipeline of purchase and refinance files from order opening through disbursement, managing priorities to meet contract and lender deadlines.
• Review title commitments and coordinate resolution of requirements, including payoffs, lien releases, discharges, and other curative items.
• Order and track payoffs, tax and water certifications, HOA documents, and related items needed to clear files for closing.
• Prepare and balance Closing Disclosures and ALTA settlement statements in coordination with lenders.
• Conduct closings for buyers and sellers, including purchase, refinance, and split closings; notarize documents as needed.
• Receive, verify, and disburse funds accurately, following strict wire verification and fraud-prevention procedures.
• Communicate proactively with real estate agents, lenders, attorneys, buyers, and sellers to keep every party informed from open to close.
• Coordinate with our back-office partner on title production, recording, policy issuance, and daily escrow reconciliation.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready files in our title production system.
• Help build and refine the processes, checklists, and service standards of a new agency as we scale.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an escrow officer, escrow closer, or full-cycle title processor at a title agency (or comparable settlement operation).
• Michigan title insurance producer license, or the ability to obtain one promptly (we will support licensing for the right candidate).
• Working knowledge of title commitments, curative resolution, closing documents, and disbursement.
• Experience preparing and balancing Closing Disclosures under TRID.
• Proficiency with title production software such as ResWare, Qualia, SoftPro, or RamQuest, plus Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Michigan notary public commission, or willingness to obtain one (RON certification a plus).
• Comfortable managing a high-volume pipeline independently — our agency runs 70–100 files per month at capacity.
• Excellent communication skills and a service-first mindset with agents, lenders, and consumers.
• Self-starter who thrives with ownership and minimal hand-holding; startup or small-agency experience a plus.
