You became an Athletic Trainer because you believe in the power of your hands, your knowledge, and your relationship with the people in your care.
At YORK Orthopedic Recovery, that belief is the foundation of everything we do. This is a deeply hands-on role — one where manual therapy, bodywork, and movement-based care are not secondary services. They are central to how we operate every single day. If you love working with your hands as much as you love the science behind why it works, you will thrive here.
We are a concierge-level performance and recovery clinic, and we treat the whole human, not just the injury in front of us. Pain, movement quality, recovery, stress, sleep, hydration, and long-term wellness are all interconnected at YORK. We are looking for someone who sees it the same way: a clinician who is just as passionate about a client's longevity and overall health as they are about their return-to-sport timeline.
This is not a revolving-door clinic. It is not a sideline job. It is a full-time, hands-on clinical role built for someone who wants their work to mean something every session, every client, every day.
We built a role around everything that drew you to this profession in the first place the movement, the relationships, the recovery science, the performance side that most clinical settings never let you touch. This is not a traditional outpatient setting. It's not a high school sideline. It's something better.
We are a concierge-level performance and recovery clinic serving a wide and deeply rewarding client population — and we're looking for a mission-driven Athletic Trainer who wants to do work that feels as good as it performs.
A CLIENT POPULATION THAT WILL CHALLENGE & INSPIRE YOU
One of the most meaningful things about working at YORK is the range and depth of the people you will serve. No two days look the same, and no two clients present the same way.
Tactical Athletes — Law Enforcement & First Responders
We partner with the Modesto Police Department, Stanislaus County Sheriff, Public Defender, and District Attorney offices to provide on-site and clinic-based care for law enforcement and first responders. This population carries enormous physical demand and chronic stress load — and they are deeply underserved in the sports medicine world. You will deliver hands-on manual therapy, injury prevention programming, and movement-based care to people who protect our community every day. It is some of the most rewarding clinical work you will do.
Youth Athletes — Recovery, Rehab & Long-Term Health
We work with young athletes in recovery and rehabilitation, meeting them where they are and helping them understand their bodies for the long haul. Youth care at YORK is rooted in education, patience, and a genuine commitment to their health not just this season, but for life. You will work with athletes and their families with honesty and care, building the foundation for lifelong movement health.
Active Adults & Performance-Focused Clients
From weekend warriors to serious competitors, our adult clientele comes to YORK because they want more than a quick fix. They want to move better, age well, manage stress, and sustain performance over time. You will be a partner in that journey — not just a provider.
A HEAVILY HANDS-ON CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT
Manual therapy and bodywork are at the core of care at YORK. You will spend a significant portion of your time delivering skilled, hands-on treatment — and you will be expected to bring both technical precision and genuine therapeutic presence to every session.
Our manual therapy approach includes:
WHAT YOUR DAYS ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE
Event & Sporting Complex Coverage
YORK provides athletic training coverage and recovery at local sporting events and complexes throughout the region. You will be on the ground delivering real-time assessment, injury management, and athlete care in live competitive environments — the kind of hands-on, high-stakes clinical work that keeps your skills sharp and your purpose clear.
Workshops & Performance Classes
You will play an active role in designing and leading performance workshops and movement-based classes — both in our facility and in the community. These are not just add-ons. They are a core part of how YORK educates, serves, and builds lasting relationships with our clients. They are also an opportunity for you to grow your voice as a clinician and specialist. Help teach people how to move better and truly avoid injury.
Youth Recovery & Rehab Programs
Collaborate with our team to develop age-appropriate recovery and rehabilitation programming for young athletes. You will help build something the Central Valley does not yet have at scale — comprehensive, clinician-led youth recovery care.
Corrective Exercise & Movement Programming
YOUR RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY TOOLKIT
Alongside your manual therapy work, you will become proficient in an elite stack of recovery modalities that most ATCs spend years trying to access. At YORK, this technology is your daily environment.
You will educate clients on the science behind each modality, guide protocols, and help them integrate recovery into their lifestyle as part of a whole-health approach — not just a treatment plan.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Beyond credentials, we are looking for a person. Someone who sees athletic training as a calling, not just a career. Someone who gets genuinely excited about the connection between hands-on care, recovery science, performance, and the long-term health of the people they serve.
The right person for this role is:
