Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Coder and Biller to join our healthcare team. Duties

• Review and analyze medical records, documentation, and physician notes to assign appropriate ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes in accordance with medical coding guidelines.
• Ensure accurate electronic health record (EHR) management for billing and coding purposes using advanced billing software and EMR/EHR systems.
• Prepare and submit insurance third-party claims for health insurance claim processing, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or resolve coding discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding updates, and healthcare regulations related to inpatient and outpatient services.
• Manage the revenue cycle by verifying patient information, processing payments, and following up on unpaid claims.
• Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy standards while supporting medical collection efforts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting, with familiarity in DRG, ICD-9/10 coding systems, CPT coding, and medical terminology.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines for inpatient services and outpatient procedures.
• Proficiency with billing software platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR management tools.
• Understanding of health insurance policies, third-party billing processes, and revenue cycle management strategies.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately.
• Knowledge of medical collection procedures and health insurance claim processing protocols.
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory.
