Scope of Authority: This position does not supervise other personnel.
Security/Access: Employee will be issued picture identification and a department credit card.
Job SummaryHealth Educator is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating evidence-based public health programs and educational initiatives that promote health, prevent disease, and improve community health outcomes. This position develops and implements grant-funded programs, conducts community outreach and health education, supports clinical team and collaborates with community partners to address health disparities and improve access to preventive services.Health Educator supports public health policy and health promotion initiatives, ensures compliance with grant requirements and public health standards, and performs other duties as assigned in support of the mission of the health department.Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, human services, social work, or closely related field.
· Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within six (6) months of employment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common computer/database applications.
· Valid driver’s license, proof of personal vehicle insurance, and ability to use personal transportation for work purposes.
· Ability to travel throughout the TRPHD seven-county service area and occasionally beyond.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain cultural awareness and sensitivity.

· Comply with all TRPHD policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA regulations.
· Participate in assigned staff committees, required training, performance management, quality improvement activities, and accreditation efforts.
· Assist with emergency preparedness and response efforts during disease outbreaks, disasters, or public health emergencies as assigned.
· Complete other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, and use hands/fingers for routine office and outreach activities.
· Ability to occasionally climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Ability to participate in and demonstrate health education and wellness activities as required by assigned programs.
Work Environment
· Ability to work in a smoke/tobacco-free and drug-free work environment.
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is based on programmatic or community needs.
