We are seeking an upbeat professional to be the reassuring voice and friendly face that clients remember when placing their pets in our care for a playful boarding or daycare experience.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work some holidays
- Previous administrative, office, or receptionist experience
- Previous experience working in a setting that requires professional customer service, with direct exposure to assisting clients on an individual basis
- Must be reliable, presentable, and possess excellent grammar (written and verbal communication)
- Should have excellent judgement in problem-solving
- Should be able to quickly and efficiently type paragraph email responses, enter data, and have high attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to lift and carry dogs and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Dog or animal experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours and bend repetitively
- Ability to lift and carry dogs and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Practice superior customer service by greeting parents & dogs and consistently accepting and returning animals to delighted parents
- Excellent phone etiquette – answering phones promptly, professionally, and with a friendly smile
- Organize tasks and timelines using shared calendars, task tracking apps, and more.
- Provide timely and accurate word processing support
- Provide document scanning, filing, and organization support
- Increase efficiency through use of technology support
- Train new staff on software use and office procedures
- Maintain an organized front desk with attention to detail while maintaining clear daily notes
- Manage and maintain Parent & Pup records, documenting all required information to ensure we are meeting all the parent’s requests and the pup’s needs
- Takes initiative to ensure the lobby and grooming areas are kept clean and organized
- Conduct opening and closing procedures
- Follow standard cleaning procedures including proper use to chemicals to ensure a safe environment for animals and people
- Reliable Transportation
- Must be dependable and punctual
Customer Service Responsibilities:
- Orient and tour new clients to organization and explain policies
- Greet regular clients by name and nurture client relationships
- Check-in and Check-out pets per a specific protocol
- Handle individual dogs on and off leash and escort arriving dogs into playgroup
- Accept payments and provide estimates
- Provide relaxed and appropriate pet handling at entry and exit
- Clear verbal/written communication regarding pet health and behavior issues
- Answer phone calls and emails promptly
- Make, Edit, and Cancel reservations accurately
- Minimize vacancy, manage wait list
- Clear and concise communication with management
- Communications with pet parents regarding pet health and wellness updates
- Communication with pet parents regarding pet behavior, playgroup participation updates, training/service options, and pet eligibility
- Respond to all pet parent questions and concerns until fully satisfied
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
