The Brand Representative is the face and voice of Guittard Chocolate in the marketplace. This role is responsible for building brand awareness, driving solutions, and strengthening customer relationships through in-person engagement, product education, and storytelling. The ideal candidate combines a passion for chocolate and food with strong interpersonal skills and a polished, professional presence. This position is an exempt, full-time and fully benefited position, and reports to the Director of Specialty & Foodservice Sales.
Culinary Engagement & Product Application
- Translate Guittard product attributes into chef-relevant outcomes (melt, viscosity, tempering behavior, flavor notes, shelf stability considerations, yield/cost-in-use concepts).
- Provide menu and R&D support by suggesting applications, formats, and product selections aligned to operator needs (e.g., desserts, inclusions, ganache, mousse, drinks).
Foodservice Sales Enablement
- Partner with Foodservice Sales and distributor teams to support lead development, pipeline conversion and account retention through culinary storytelling and usage confidence.
- Conduct trainings, chef tables, sampling programs, and distributor ride-alongs to accelerate adoption and pull-through;
- Support regional and national trade shows and events; manage prep, demo execution, booth presence, and follow-up.
Brand Storytelling & Experience
- Communicate Guittard’s heritage, craft, and responsible sourcing story in a way that resonates with culinary professionals & end-users and aligns to premium positioning.
- Create a polished, welcoming experience at every touchpoint, representing the brand with professionalism, warmth, and culinary credibility.
Market Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Capture and share customer feedback, competitor intel, and emerging trends with Sales, Marketing, and Culinary teams to inform product, messaging, and activation.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Culinary team to convert marketing & chef activities and prospects into qualified sales leads.
- Maintain high product knowledge across formats (couverture, chips, wafers, bars, cocoa powders, etc.) and stay current on new items and seasonal priorities.
Territory & Program Management
- Plan and execute a calendar of culinary visits, trainings, and events; track activities, leads, and outcomes.
- Maintain demo kits, samples, tools, and branded materials; ensure food safety, cleanliness, and compliance at events and in kitchen environments.
· Provide market feedback to support innovation and continuous improvement.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two (2) plus years in Foodservice, Culinary, Pastry/Baking, Specialty Ingredients, or Brand Demo/field role. Experience supporting foodservice channels heavily preferred.
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.
- Comfort in discussing chocolate technique.
- Prior trade show/demo execution and distributor engagement experience.
- Confident communicator with the ability to present to chefs, teams, and stakeholders—1:1 and group settings.
- Strong working knowledge of back-of-house realities: prep, speed, consistency, execution, and cost considerations.
- Ability to travel within territory (including occasionally early mornings, evenings, and weekends).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport demo supplies.
- Able to lift up to 30+ lbs. and stand for extended periods during demos/events.
What Success Looks Like (Performance Outcomes)
- Increase sell-through in targeted foodservice accounts via focused demos and training measured by increased sales volume through distribution.
- Strong chef/operator relationships and positive feedback on product performance and support.
- Strong internal partnerships that result in coordinated field execution, clear communication, and faster response to customer needs across Sales, Culinary, and Marketing teams.
- Improve distributor confidence via training and field enablement.
- Consistent brand execution across culinary events and customer interactions.
Working Conditions
This role frequently works in commercial kitchens, bakeries, and event settings. Occasional exposure to heat, noise, tight workspaces, and production environments is expected.
