Job Description INTEGRA is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in San Juan. This position is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and quality review of mechanical systems for a wide range of building projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, working closely with project managers, multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering designs, performing complex mechanical and hydraulic analyses, mentoring junior staff, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and supporting project delivery from conceptual design through construction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and public-sector projects.
- Perform and review mechanical system calculations, including load calculations, hydraulic analyses, energy evaluations, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare and oversee the development of technical reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Serve as Engineer of Record (when applicable) and provide professional engineering judgment throughout project execution.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project efforts with civil, structural, electrical, architectural, and construction teams.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level mechanical engineers and designers.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation activities.
- Attend and lead meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and permitting authorities.
- Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction administration activities, including shop drawing reviews and responses to RFIs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, energy codes, and applicable engineering standards.
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client presentations, and technical interviews.
- Utilize advanced engineering software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-standard mechanical design and analysis tools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in the design of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, International Building Code (IBC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), and other relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and mechanical engineering design software.
- Experience with energy modeling, sustainable design practices, and high-performance building systems is preferred.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
License
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
