We are hiring an experienced and dynamic Lead Software Engineer to spearhead our SAP BTP / CAP Java / Fiori engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of multiple high-impact services from the ground up within the SAP Business Network. You will be highly involved in every phase of the product development and deployment lifecycle — from initial idea generation, planning, and design, to prototyping, execution, shipping, and continuous iteration.
As a hands-on Lead Software Engineer, you are a pragmatic problem solver who values clean, effective, and scalable code above all. You will work in close lockstep with our Team Architect and Product Manager, translating complex product roadmap features into modular technical designs and leading your team to successfully deliver them.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a high-performing development team to build and scale robust commercial software

Take an active, hands-on role in all stages of product development: design, prototyping, development, deployment, and ongoing iteration

Collaborate closely with the Team Architect to break down complex product roadmap features into technical components and implement them

Tirelessly advocate for coding best practices, automated testing, and code quality to build highly scalable, resilient microservices

Partner hand-in-glove with Product Managers, QA, UX, and other engineering stakeholders to align on scope, deliverables, and timelines

Help the team analyze, research, and solve production issues, customer requests, and inquiries, escalating appropriately when necessary

Assess the severity and scope of incoming production problems, maintaining accountability and ownership until they are resolved

Efficiently organize, prioritize, and address multiple production challenges from various sources, delegating tasks across the team to optimize output

Balance technical excellence with business reality, ensuring timely delivery without compromising on system integrity

Foster a collaborative team environment, driving continuous improvement in development processes and technical execution
Requirements

At least 7+ years of professional experience in coding web-based applications, along with proven experience coordinating a development team

Demonstrated experience leading software development teams to successfully create and launch commercial-grade software

Mastery of Java, Spring Boot, and robust web service development

Strong development skills within the SAP BTP/CAP environment, specifically utilizing Fiori-based development (SAPUI5, oData, and CAP CDS)

Deep understanding of software design patterns, enterprise architecture, and data structures
-
Extensive experience building web APIs and implementing API-first design principles (e.g., Swagger, REST APIs, or GraphQL)

Proven familiarity with SAP HANA DB, along with a strong understanding of at least one other relational database management system (RDBMS)

Skilled in using development and DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef

Good understanding of deployment environments, application configuration, and change management principles

Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
-
Strong knowledge and hands-on implementation experience of authentication & authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML), third-party logins is a big plus
