This role is based in our corporate office in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida. The work environment is an on-site, full-time position.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for leading the design, management, and execution of complex electrical engineering projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential facilities. The role encompasses the full project lifecycle, including conceptual design, permitting, budgeting, bid documentation, construction administration, commissioning, and project closeout.
Key responsibilities include designing power distribution systems, lighting, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage communications and security systems, emergency power systems (generators, transfer switches, and UPS), and building automation controls. The engineer will perform electrical calculations, power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash), develop construction documents, conduct site surveys, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
The position serves as a technical lead and project manager, coordinating closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver fully integrated designs. Responsibilities also include construction-phase support, reviewing contractor submittals and invoices, monitoring project schedules, conducting field investigations, and acting as Resident Engineer when required.
Additionally, the role provides leadership and mentorship to junior staff, oversees designers and CADD technicians, participates in business development activities, and maintains strong client relationships. Success in this position requires excellent technical expertise, project management skills, leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and building code requirements.
