Job Description
Position Summary:
The Operations Co-Op will work on assignments related to aerospace manufacturing operations, production support, continuous improvement, and plant initiatives. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning experience and then a sound operational and/or financial return for the PCC organization.
The student will gain hands-on exposure to plant operations, cross-functional collaboration, manufacturing processes, and operational problem-solving while supporting the Operations and Plant Leadership teams.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect, compile, and analyze operational and production data including throughput, downtime, labor utilization, scrap, schedule adherence, and workflow efficiency.
Support plant operations initiatives including continuous improvement projects, production tracking, and operational reporting.
Observe and document manufacturing and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with development and maintenance of operational procedures, standardized work instructions, and process documentation.
Support production planning, workflow coordination, and plant performance initiatives.
Participate in root cause analysis activities related to production inefficiencies, delays, or operational challenges.
Assist with implementation and tracking of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams on cross-functional projects.
Support plant manager and operations leadership with special projects and operational priorities.
Prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs, presentations, and reports to support operational analysis and decision-making.
Participate in departmental meetings and operational reviews.
Take ownership and responsibility for assigned operational projects and tasks.
Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze operational improvements and process enhancements.

Required Skills
Computer skills must include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and interact with multiple departments.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education
