Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on animal care, ensuring a smooth flow of clinic operations while delivering exceptional service to clients and their pets. If you are passionate about animals, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for someone to work reception on Wednesdays and in the back as an assistant on Fridays. Fridays are mandatory. Hours are 8:30am-5:00pm with a paid lunch break. If you cannot work this schedule, please do not apply.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the clinic’s appointment calendar efficiently
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide clear information about services and procedures
• Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic husbandry tasks to support veterinary procedures
• Maintain accurate record keeping of patient information, treatments, medications, and laboratory results
• Support veterinary staff with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, and animal catheterization when needed
• Help with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and basic diagnostic tasks to aid in animal diagnosis and treatment

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic is highly preferred
• Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint, and understanding of animal behavior
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques
• Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently
• Experience with AviMark (not required)
• Excellent client communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Computer and phone skills are required
