Job Overview
Swagelok Salt Lake is seeking a Technical Specialist to support our custom solutions team. In this role, you'll collaborate with our field engineers, fabrication team, and quality team to help deliver custom fluid system assemblies that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined with an interest in learning fluid system components, assembly practices, and troubleshooting. Experience with industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or technical environments is preferred. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving and wants to build specialized expertise in fluid systems while working alongside experienced field engineers, fabricators, and technical professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare quotations for custom fluid system solutions in collaboration with field engineers and account managers
- Provide technical support to internal teams and customers by answering product questions, assisting with troubleshooting, delivering training, and supporting onsite services as needed.
- Obtain required Swagelok assembly certifications and support the fabrication team with the production of custom assemblies.
- Partner with the quality team to ensure custom assemblies meet Swagelok quality standards and customer requirements.
- Complete Swagelok University training to develop technical expertise and support the engineering, fabrication, and sales teams.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in technical products.
- Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, industrial distribution, fabrication, or another hands-on technical environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable learning new technical concepts and software.
- Familiarity with fluid system components or other industrial mechanical systems preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Regular lifting of up to 75 pounds, as well as frequent bending and reaching. Ability to operate production tools and equipment for extended periods. Regular use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
Location: Onsite
Schedule: M-Th, 8am-5pm, Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm
Pay: $50,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
