Storie Street Grille & Sidecar Bar is hiring a Line Cook. This position is best suited for people with a sense of urgency, are able to work in a team environment and autonomously, have basic knife skills, can maintain an even temperament under pressure, an interest in culinary arts, comprehension of food code and desire to learn and adapt.
Everyone does a bit of everything to make it happen each day, such as helping other set up, break down and just pushing food out in general. We are a team oriented & an inclusive work environment, all we ask is that you be a good human, match the efforts of others on the team, be on time for shifts and be reliable. We have a staff break area so there is no eating on pickle buckets like many places. Kitchen receives a free meal.
Must be able to reliably commute in to work in winter weather. Must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday, please do not apply if you can't work weekends or need most of the summer/fall off. We are not a good fit for someone in need of that schedule. We are a smaller crew and we do our best to make sure everyone has equal opportunity for time off. We do close on Thanksgiving and 3 days around Christmas. Closed Monday.
Kitchen receives base pay plus substantial tip out. Tip out adds $1-$3 per hour even in our "off season." Tip out is based on restaurant sales, the busier we are the more money you make. Base Pay Amounts are $15 for Cold Line, $16 for Grill & Fry, $17 for Sauté, $18 if you can do all Grill, Fry, Sauté, expo and lead the line. Health Insurance available after a period of time for full time staff.
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
