We are a fast-paced, client-focused law firm committed to providing high-quality legal services with professionalism, compassion, and strong attention to detail. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and fully bilingual Immigration Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our team and support attorneys with immigration case preparation, client communication, document collection, and case management.
****This is an in-person position from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, out of our North Raleigh office. We take care of our staff and work hard to maintain a comfortable, respectful, and pleasant work environment. There is also room for growth as our firm continues expanding.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and organize immigration forms, packets, applications, and supporting documents
Assist with USCIS filings and immigration-related case preparation
Communicate professionally with clients by phone, email, text, and in person
Translate and draft written correspondence in English and Spanish
Collect, review, and organize client documents and evidence
Maintain accurate case files and track important deadlines
Follow attorney and office instructions while proactively identifying tasks that need to be completed
Provide excellent customer service and support to clients throughout their case
Assist with scheduling, follow-ups, and client reminders
Draft cover letters, declarations, affidavits, and other immigration-related documents as needed
Required Qualifications
**** 1 - 3 years of Immigration experience preferred, but not necessary.
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish — reading, writing, and speaking required
Spanish is absolutely necessary. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines at the same time
Professional demeanor and strong client-relation skills
Comfortable working in a busy law firm environment
Strong working knowledge of:
Adobe Acrobat / PDF tools
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Email and basic office technology
Preferred Qualifications
Prior immigration law office experience
Experience preparing USCIS forms and immigration packets
Experience with family-based immigration, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, U visas, SIJS, asylum, or removal-related cases
Ability to review documents carefully and identify missing information
Ability to take initiative while still following office procedures
Organized, dependable, and deadline-driven
Comfortable speaking with clients who may be stressed, nervous, or unfamiliar with the legal process
