About the Role
We are looking for a high-ownership Systems/Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale our core distributed event architecture. We care deeply about software engineering fundamentals, system scalability, and clean API design over specific framework memorization. If you understand how high-throughput systems work under the hood, you’ll thrive here regardless of your primary stack language.
Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency REST and gRPC microservices. Architect robust asynchronous data pipelines and event streaming architectures handling millions of daily events. Optimize database query performance, indexing strategies, and caching layers. Collaborate on system design, technical RFCs, and mentor junior/mid-level engineers.
Requirements & Fundamental Skills Engineering Fundamentals: Strong mastery of Data Structures, Algorithms, System Design, and Object-Oriented / Functional paradigms. Modern Distributed Stack: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Python (FastAPI, Django), Go, or Java/Kotlin. Event Streaming & Messaging: Hands-on experience with asynchronous queues or streaming brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS). Databases & Caching: Deep familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and key-value stores (Redis). Infrastructure & Scale: Experience with Docker, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD automation pipelines.
Nice to Haves Public GitHub projects or active contributions to open-source software. Experience with Distributed Tracing (OpenTelemetry) and system observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana).
