Mapache specializes in providing turnkey event production for a diverse clientele, including both touring and corporate clients, such as SXSW, USAA, Illfest, Electric Forest, and more. We are building a warehouse operation that is organized, scalable, and show-ready for any scenario.
Position Summary:
With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional quality and service, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse/"Shop" Manager to join our team and oversee our warehouse operations. This role works closely with Project Managers and Technicians to ensure jobs, equipment, and clients are taken care of. This role is highly hands-on, and the ideal candidate has practical experience across all core production departments. This person should be highly detail-oriented and organized; they need to remain calm under pressure while continuously building process.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations & Job Prep:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, prep, and QC
- Lead show prep/de-prep by reviewing pull sheets, handling inventory, and scanning equipment
- Support all SOPs related to jobs, truck packing, equipment storage, safety and compliance, etc.
- Work with leadership to determine when additional warehouse labor is required to fulfill jobs
Inventory Management & Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory, including location, status, and supply levels
- Own inventory management system Flex Rental, driving consistency across departments
- Ensure all equipment is operational by minimizing out of commission units and scheduling repairs
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow and create SOPs to reduce errors, improve efficiency, and strengthen quality control
- Enforce proper handling of all equipment such as forklifts, ladders, hazardous materials, etc.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment according to regulations
Team Leadership & Culture:
- Supervise warehouse staff as needed, giving guidance and support according to policy
- Work with leadership to provide constructive feedback and delegate daily tasks
- Monitor deadlines and flag issues quickly to promote a culture of excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree of equivalent work experience
- 4+ years in live events, A/V, or production warehouse environments
- 2+ years in a lead/supervisory/management position
- Strong knowledge of event production equipment, with expertise in one or many of the following: audio, video, lighting, trussing, rigging, staging, power, SFX
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to problem-solve and operate under pressure
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk/bend/climb for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification preferred
- Passion for music or events preferred
- Familiarity with Flex Rental Solutions preferred, or similar inventory management software
