The Manager Trainee program involves hands-on training that takes place in one of our many facilities. This program involves learning about Midwest Manufacturing and the products we make, as well as capitalizing on your education to help you develop into an effective and successful manager. As a Manager Trainee, you will oversee all aspects of our busy manufacturing facilities. You will learn everything from how our products are manufactured and how our equipment operates to how to manage supply and demand and maintain a balance between payroll and sales. This position will give you a chance to utilize your problem solving abilities to help make good business decisions for the company. Midwest Manufacturing/Menards believes strongly in promotion from within. With support and training from your managers and fellow team members, along with your willingness to relocate, you will be ready in a few months to take the next step in a successful management career.

What do Manager Trainees do?

• Train and participate in all areas of the Distribution Center including shipping, receiving, and transportation
• Supervise and manage department functions including operational scheduling, goal setting, training and performance coaching, interviewing and hiring
• This position is responsible for learning all production, management, and supervision operations of their assigned Midwest Manufacturing production facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Production
• Ensure that all product is built in the most efficient way
• Ensure that all orders are filled within an acceptable lead time.
• Involved in setting and evaluating production quotas, both quantity and quality
• Manage and lead team members in your area
• Work with supervisors and managers in your area to accomplish goals
• Come up with innovative ideas to improve current processes

Facility Maintenance and Utilization

• Keep all production facilities in good repair, orderly, and clean
• Use equipment to capacity to fill order Safety*
• Ensure all safety policies are enforced, all training is up to date, and all equipment is guarded and well maintained.
• Keep all safety training and maintenance documented
• Keep open communication with all Team Members regarding safety issues

Other

• Attain the highest profit dollars possible
• Balance inventory and reduce stock to ensure maximum turn and in-stock position.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a manufacturing, engineering, or management related field preferred or equivalent management experience

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
