THE OPPORTUNITY
Integrated Turf Care has served commercial clients across South Florida for over 40 years. Our irrigation division currently operates 2-man crews to service our commercial accounts — HOAs, car dealerships, shopping centers, business and industrial parks, and more. We’re growing fast, and the goal is to double our crews within the next year.
This isn’t a caretaker role. We’re looking for someone who will build the division — recruit and develop the people, win new customers, elevate the technical standard, and put the systems in place to scale. You’ll lead from the field, stay close to the complex work, and grow a book of business while building the team around you.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repair on commercial irrigation systems — hydraulic and electrical
- Locate and resolve valve failures, solenoid issues, wiring faults, broken lines, and pressure problems
- Diagnose, service, and repair commercial pump stations — including booster pumps, VFDs, pressure tanks, and controls
- Troubleshoot and install 2-wire irrigation systems — including decoder-based systems, path wiring, and field device diagnostics
- Install complete systems including piping, manifolds, valves, controllers, pump stations, and wiring
- Program and optimize controllers across all major manufacturers; execute seasonal adjustments
- Conduct system activations, inspections, and performance testing
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Operate and maintain service vehicles, tools, and diagnostic equipment
TEAM BUILDING & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Interview, hire, and onboard irrigation technicians as the division grows from 2 crews to 4
- Train and develop crew members — elevate technical skill across the team, not just your own
- Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews
- Address performance issues directly and professionally; manage progressive discipline when needed
- Build a crew culture grounded in craftsmanship, accountability, and pride in the work
- Identify high-potential technicians and create a path for their growth within ITC
OPERATIONS & SCHEDULING
- Plan and manage daily workflow across service calls, repairs, installations, and inspections
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and vehicle readiness across all crews
- Maintain accurate service logs, timesheets, inventory records, and job documentation
- Support development of irrigation pricing standards, procedures, and safety protocols
SALES & CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing irrigation clients — own the relationship from estimate to completion
- Actively prospect and build relationships with property managers, facility managers, and HOA decision-makers to win new irrigation accounts
- Prepare and present repair recommendations, system improvement proposals, and upgrade estimates
- Identify and close upsell opportunities within the existing client base
- Represent ITC professionally in the field — your presence on a job site is part of the sales process
- Promote water-efficient practices and position ITC as a trusted expert in commercial irrigation
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of hands-on irrigation experience at an advanced or senior level
- Demonstrated experience with commercial pump stations — booster systems, VFDs, controls, and troubleshooting
- Florida Irrigation Specialty Contractor license or equivalent state/national certification strongly preferred
- Prior experience interviewing, hiring, and managing the performance of field technicians
- Proven ability to build client relationships and contribute to business development
- Strong client communication skills — you can explain a complex repair clearly and professionally
- Organized and disciplined with documentation, scheduling, and follow-through
- Clean, valid driver’s license; ability to operate a UTV or similar field equipment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) a plus
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
A lot of “manager” titles in this industry mean you stop doing the work you’re good at. This one doesn’t. At ITC, you’ll have genuine ownership of the irrigation division — the crew, the schedule, the client relationships, and the technical outcomes — while staying close enough to the ground to keep your skills sharp. You won’t be executing someone else’s playbook. You’ll be writing it. We’re growing fast, we invest in our people, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
