Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Manager specialized in Aerospace & Defense to lead our quality assurance initiatives and uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems aligned with industry regulations and customer expectations. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing processes meet rigorous quality standards, regulatory requirements, such as AS9100, ISO 140001, an FAA, while serving as the FAA Accountable Manager, to deliver exceptional products that meet or exceed client specifications. Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (AS9100)
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer, registrar, and regulatory audits.
- Oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and root cause analysis.
- Review quality metrics and performance data; report findings to executive management.
- Ensure document control, risk management, and configuration management requirements are met.
- Support contract review, supplier quality, and change management activities.
FAA Accountable Manager Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated FAA Accountable Manager for Part 21 and Part 145 with full authority and responsibility for regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, approvals, and certifications.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the FAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure adequate resources, staffing, training, and facilities are available to maintain FAA compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly for any FAA findings or observations.
Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
- Develop, implement, and maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Identify environmental aspects and impacts; establish objectives and targets.
- Lead environmental audits and management reviews.
- Coordinate waste management, spill prevention, and environmental training programs.
- Promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives across the organization.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop quality and compliance personnel.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Ensure employee awareness and training related to quality, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and present management review data and compliance reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Sr. Quality Inspectors
- Quality Inspectors
- Final Test Inspectors
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to carry equipment
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time
