We are looking for an experienced, organized, and motivated Purchasing Manager to oversee sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of organic compliance standards, international supply chains, and global factors affecting ingredient availability and pricing. Experience working with organic bulk goods, herbs, spices, and natural ingredients is highly valued.
This role is perfect for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while building strong supplier relationships and helping maintain a consistent, high-quality supply chain that aligns with our company values and integrity. Position is hybrid-remote.
Salary is dependent on experience and we are open to part time or full time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and sourcing of organic materials, ingredients, and related products
- Ensure all purchasing activities meet organic certification and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and forecasting to minimize shortages and overstock
- Use ERP and inventory management systems to track purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, and reporting
- Monitor global supply chain trends, freight markets, crop conditions, tariffs, and geopolitical events that may affect pricing or availability
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supplier partnerships both domestically and internationally
- Work closely with operations, production, logistics, and quality assurance teams to support smooth product flow
- Evaluate supplier quality, reliability, lead times, and compliance standards
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements without compromising quality
- Maintain organized purchasing records, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Attend occasional trade shows and supplier meetings to build industry relationships and sourcing opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within the organic food, supplements, natural products, or agricultural industries
- Strong understanding of organic compliance requirements, certifications, and traceability standards
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management platforms
- Knowledge of international sourcing, importing, freight logistics, and supply chain management
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong computer proficiency
- Willingness to travel occasionally
