Major Purpose
To support the Family Ministry department in establishing and implementing discipleship and outreach programs for students, with a primary focus on Middle School (6th–8th grade) and High School. This role assists department managers in fostering an engaging, loving environment where students can grow in their faith and thrive.
Major Responsibilities
Weekly Discipleship: Under the guidance of department managers, help plan, facilitate, and execute weekly programs, including Sunday mornings and mid-week Wednesday evening gatherings.
Teaching & Leadership: Assist in creating and teaching Biblical, relevant lessons; leading small groups; and leading worship sessions.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the creation and organization of ministry curriculum tailored for youth.
Special Events & Trips: Play a significant role in the planning, logistics, and execution of special events, camps, retreats, and mission trips.
Relational Ministry: Provide spiritual nurture through building individual relationships with students and their families.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in accordance with the RBCPC Protection Policy.
Administrative & Office Management
- Program Support: Manage administrative tasks required for student programming, including registration forms and event marketing.
- Resource Coordination: Assist in the preparation of materials, food, and beverages for weekly events and special programs.
- Volunteer Engagement: Support managers in coordinating and communicating with volunteer leaders and parents.
Working Relationships
- Direct Supervision: Works in direct collaboration with the Family Ministry Department Managers, including the High School, Middle School, and Children’s Directors. With direct emphasis in Middle School and High School.
- Collaboration: Works as a colleague with other Children’s and Family Ministry staff to ensure team-oriented relations.
- Meetings: Participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and ministry team meetings as requested.
Qualifications
- Heart for Youth: Must possess a deep love for students and a vision for their spiritual growth.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or youth within a church, camp, or team-building organization is preferred.
- Education: College degree or progression toward a degree is preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with both Mac and PC.
- Character: Must exhibit patience, a calmness of spirit in tense situations, and a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
Physical Requirements
- Activity Level: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during events and camps.
- Strength: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility: Requires flexibility regarding work days and times, including some holidays and weekends.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
