Power Pallet, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Controller / Director of Finance with proven experience in both finance and manufacturing to join our executive leadership team.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity within a stable, third-generation, family-owned manufacturing company with more than 50 years of success.
The right candidate will work directly with ownership, influence important business decisions, strengthen financial and operational performance, and help guide the company’s continued growth.
This is not a remote, hybrid, or traditional back-office accounting position. It is a fully in-person leadership role located at 4715 State Highway 30 in Amsterdam, New York, with a regular Monday-through-Friday schedule.

Key Responsibilities
The Controller / Director of Finance will lead and support the company’s primary financial functions, including:
· Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis
· Manufacturing cost accounting and operational financial performance
· Cash flow management and long-term financial planning
· Inventory accounting, job costing, production costs, and margin analysis
· Monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
· Development and maintenance of effective internal controls
· Financial review of labor, material, overhead, and other cost drivers
· Partnership with ownership and senior leadership on strategic decisions
· Oversight of accounting processes, records, and financial systems
· Identification of opportunities to improve profitability and operating performance
· Support for business growth, capital planning, and process-improvement initiatives
· Communication of financial results to both financial and non-financial leaders
The Candidate We Are Seeking
This role requires a finance professional who understands how financial decisions affect a manufacturing operation.
Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated background in both finance and manufacturing. Experience limited exclusively to banking, professional services, retail, nonprofit, or other nonmanufacturing environments will not provide the operational foundation needed for this position.
The successful candidate will be:
· Experienced in manufacturing finance, accounting, or cost accounting
· Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
· Confident partnering directly with company ownership
· Skilled at translating financial information into practical business guidance
· Strong in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow, and financial controls
· Knowledgeable about inventory, costing, margins, labor, overhead, and production performance
· Able to identify financial and operational opportunities for improvement
· Organized, dependable, accountable, and detail-oriented
· Professional, trustworthy, and capable of handling confidential information
· A strong communicator who can build productive relationships throughout the company
Qualifications
· Meaningful professional experience in finance, accounting, controllership, or financial leadership
· Direct experience working within a manufacturing company
· Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, margins, job costing, and operational finance
· Demonstrated stability and progression within previous positions
· Strong Excel, financial reporting, and analytical skills
· Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software preferred
· Previous experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, or senior-level accounting professional preferred
· Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Business Administration is preferred but not required. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree will be considered when they can demonstrate a strong, stable, and successful employment history in both finance and manufacturing.

This is a full-time, fully in-person position.

Compensation
$100,000–$150,000 per year
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s manufacturing finance experience, leadership background, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to contribute to the organization.
