A new property and casualty insurance company is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience underwriting commercial property and casualty accounts, evaluating risk, making sound underwriting decisions, and managing accounts throughout the policy lifecycle. Experience with hospitality, restaurant, tavern, liquor liability, general liability, or specialty commercial lines is a plus.
Individuals with insurance carrier, MGA, wholesale brokerage, or retail agency experience as an Underwriter, Underwriting Assistant, Account Manager, CSR, or Production Underwriter are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review applications, loss information, inspections, and other underwriting data to assess risk acceptability
- Evaluate exposures and determine appropriate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage structure
- Prepare quotations and bind approved accounts
- Manage accounts throughout the policy lifecycle, including endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, renewals, and policy changes
- Work closely with policy issuance and operations personnel to ensure accurate policy documentation
- Assist with development and refinement of underwriting guidelines, workflows, and procedures
- Participate in portfolio management and underwriting quality reviews
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers, agents, and business partners
- Support inspections, recommendations, and account servicing activities as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial P&C insurance experience preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial underwriting principles and risk analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound underwriting decisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems
- Experience with hospitality, liquor liability, general liability, or specialty commercial lines is beneficial but not required

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
