Position Summary

The Employer Developer is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships with employers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to create meaningful career pathways for program participants. This role serves as the bridge between workforce development programming and the business community, ensuring alignment between employer needs and participant skills. The Employer Developer will strategically expand employer networks, secure job placements, track activity within FlexLA (and other), and contribute to the overall success of Sharefest’s workforce development initiatives.

JOB RELATIONS

Reports to: Workforce Development Director

Key Responsibilities

Employer Engagement & Partnership Development - 70%

• Identify, recruit, and maintain relationships with employers across priority industries to support participant hiring, internships, apprenticeships, and job shadowing opportunities.
• Collaborate with employers to understand skill needs, hiring practices, and workplace culture, ensuring program participants are prepared to meet industry demands.
• Represent Sharefest at networking events, industry convenings, job fairs, and business roundtables to recruit and promote partnership opportunities and youth placements.
• Develop formal agreements (e.g., MOUs, partnership commitments) with employer partners to outline expectations, timelines, and desired outcomes.

Program Integration & Participant Support - 20%

• Work closely with program staff to align employer opportunities with career readiness initiatives/efforts and job placements.
• Support the design and delivery of employer-facing events such as career fairs, industry panels, and worksite tours.
• Provide employers with onboarding guidance/training and post-placement support to ensure successful participant integration and retention.
• Develop individualized job placement and career plans for participants, taking into account their unique skills, interests, and employment readiness skills.
• Work with the program and workforce development team to prepare and place youth into employment opportunities.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement - 10%

• Track all employer engagement activities, partnership commitments, and participant outcomes in the organization’s CRM/database (e.g., FlexLA and Apricot 360).
• Analyze employment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in employer engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with the Workforce Development Director to adjust outreach strategies based on worker supply-demand, performance metrics, and employer feedback.

Knowledge and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Workforce Development, or related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in employer engagement, talent acquisition, or related workforce initiatives.
• Strong understanding of labor market trends, industry sectors, and skills-based hiring practices.
• Demonstrated success building and sustaining partnerships with employers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders, including recruiting fair-chance employers to expand employment opportunities and placement pathways for non-college-bound youth and youth exiting the juvenile justice system.
• Proficiency in CRM or database systems (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking employer relationships and outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work flexible hours; requires some evening and weekend hours.
• Knowledge of workforce development employers, public/private partnerships, and relevant employment compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze employment data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
