Job Summary
Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Part-Time Night Auditor, where you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth overnight operations at our hotel. This energetic position involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling guest inquiries, and maintaining the security and integrity of the property during nighttime hours. As a Night Auditor, you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving late or departing early, providing exceptional customer service while overseeing administrative and financial tasks. Your proactive approach and hospitality expertise will help create a welcoming environment that encourages guest satisfaction and safety.
The Guest Services Night Auditor position reports to the Lodge Manager and works closely with Operations Support Manager and full-time Night Auditor to ensure all daily financial transactions are accurately recorded and transmitted. Additionally, this position supports all aspects of hotel operations and guest safety.
Responsibilities
- Accurately complete daily accounting duties include running reports, reconciling accounts, and resolving any discrepancies.
- Engage with and take an active part in the professional development of student workers.
- Proactively ensure building security, asset protection, and guest safety by maintaining all life safety response processes.
- Proactively monitor weather conditions to ensure preparedness for guest safety.
- Act calmly, swiftly, and decisively in various emergency scenarios. Actively responds to emergency scenarios calmly, swiftly, and decisively.
- Maintains annual training for emergency procedures. Receive guest feedback and respond appropriately.
- To ensure guest satisfaction and quality, anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring complaints, operational issues, business flow, and staff performance.
- Maintaining confidential information.
- Supervise student staff according to the student handbook.
- Inspect staff for proper uniforms, sanitation practices, and appearance.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival or departure, providing friendly and efficient front desk service during night hours
- Verify guest reservations, process check-ins and check-outs accurately using property management systems (PMS) such as Agilysys or similar platforms
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism, offering solutions to ensure a positive experience
- Conduct nightly audits of financial transactions, including billing, payments, and account adjustments to ensure accuracy
- Maintain security protocols by monitoring CCTV surveillance, conducting patrols of the property, and responding to emergency situations in accordance with hotel procedures
- Prepare detailed shift reports documenting activities, incidents, and any irregularities encountered during the night shift
- Manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while providing clear communication with guests, staff, and emergency responders
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality management or hotel front desk operations with a focus on night audit functions
- Strong knowledge of hotel management systems (PMS), especially Agilysys or comparable platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages; bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and guest relations best practices
- Exceptional phone etiquette and experience handling multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment
- Previous resort or hotel experience preferred; familiarity with hospitality reservation systems is a plus
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of service and security
