Job Overview
Moldworx LLC, a Sunningdale Tech company located in Chandler, Arizona, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer / Scientific Molding Engineer to support our rapidly growing medical device manufacturing operation.
This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for developing, optimizing, validating, and troubleshooting injection molding processes while supporting new product launches, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate is passionate about scientific molding, process development, root cause analysis, and building robust manufacturing processes that consistently deliver high-quality medical components.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate injection molding processes
- Establish robust processing windows using scientific molding principles
- Lead IQ/OQ/PQ and process validation activities
- Support new mold sampling from T0 through production launch
- Troubleshoot molding, tooling, material, and automation issues
- Analyze process capability and implement process improvements
- Reduce scrap, downtime, and process variation
- Improve OEE and manufacturing efficiency
- Support customer audits and technical reviews
- Develop process documentation and work instructions
- Mentor process technicians and junior engineers
- Collaborate with tooling, automation, quality, and production teams
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education, technical training, and directly relevant industry experience will be considered
- 5+ years of injection molding process engineering experience preferred
- Strong scientific molding background
- Demonstrated success developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting injection molding processes
- Extensive experience processing engineering-grade resins
- Experience with RJG or equivalent process monitoring systems
- Strong understanding of mold design, hot runner systems, and tooling concepts
- Experience with DOE, process capability studies, and validation protocols
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical device manufacturing experience
- ISO 13485 experience
- Validation experience including IQ/OQ/PQ
- Experience with multi-cavity hot runner molds
- Experience with automation and robotic systems
- RJG Master Molder Certification
- Paulson training or equivalent scientific molding training
- Decoupled molding expertise

- Become the technical owner for molding process development

- Establish best practices for scientific molding and process validation
- Help position Moldworx as a center of excellence for medical device injection molding
