Duties

• Prepare fresh fruits by washing, peeling, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to established recipes and menu specifications
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, blenders, and other food prep tools
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by adhering to sanitation protocols and cleaning procedures throughout the shift
• Assist with meal assembly and presentation to ensure attractive and consistent product quality
• Support menu planning by providing input on fruit selections and preparation techniques based on operational needs
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate prep activities and ensure timely production of fruit items
• Follow recipe adherence closely to maintain consistency across all products while respecting portion sizes and food handling standards

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment within a food service or restaurant environment
• Knowledge of food safety management practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
• Skilled in knife techniques such as slicing, dicing, and julienning to ensure efficiency and safety during prep work
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, catering services or serving is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
• Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced setting
