Now Hiring: Marine Service Writer / Service Advisor

MarinePro is looking for a motivated and organized Service Writer / Service Advisor to help manage daily service operations in a busy marine service yard. This position is a key part of keeping technicians productive, customers informed, and jobs moving from intake to completion.

We are looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and able to communicate clearly with customers, technicians, vendors, and management. The ideal candidate understands the importance of documentation, follow-up, estimates, approvals, scheduling, and keeping work organized in a fast-paced marine environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Greet customers and gather accurate service requests
• Create work orders with clear customer complaints and requested repairs
• Communicate with technicians regarding job status, findings, and needed repairs
• Write estimates and obtain customer approval before work begins
• Keep customers updated throughout the repair process
• Prepare invoices and ensure all labor, parts, photos, and notes are properly documented
• Assist with scheduling technicians and prioritizing jobs
• Order and track parts when needed
• Maintain organized job files, photos, approvals, and service history
• Help ensure every vessel follows the proper intake, estimate, approval, repair, and final invoice process

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment
• Able to manage multiple jobs at once
• Basic knowledge of boats, outboards, marine systems, or service writing is preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, service software, or invoicing systems is a plus
• Able to work with technicians and customers professionally
• Understands that no work should begin without a written estimate and customer approval
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to grow with the company
