ESTIMATOR/Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Knowledge of construction industry in plumbing. The Project Estimator is responsible for job estimating, responding to Request for Quotes, working closely with suppliers, responsible to estimate materials, planning, organizing, and working closely with the Company Owner to secure profitable and successful plumbing work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Manage a variety of work assignments and estimating projects simultaneously
• Meets with contractors to introduce Arrow Plumbing and determine an implementation strategy
• Responsible for plumbing proposals
• Analyze blueprint construction drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Order blueprints (drawings) and pricing materials
• Obtain and evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes
• Manages estimating quotes from start to finish - position often requires knowledge of estimating and providing quotes for a multi-level new construction condo.
• Able to communicate, schedule, analyze information and take responsibility for estimating duties
• Support and assist owner in matters pertaining to acquiring new business
• Confer with general contractors / construction managers, engineers, designers, and communicate to company owner changes or adjustments for estimates
• Review bid documents for potential conflicts and construction feasibility issues
• Assist owner of company as needed for plumbing projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Five plus year’s experience estimating in a construction environment
• Experience in specializing in the plumbing industry
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with Minimal supervision
• Experience in managing a variety of work assignments and changing priorities
• AA degree (Bachelors’ degree preferred) or equivalent industry experience
• Computer knowledge – Technical “know how” preferred
• Proficiency with estimating software
• Trade school in the construction industry would be a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• The ability to communication information and ideas so others will understand
• The ability to express accurate information
• The ability to observe details at close range, such as a computer and blueprints.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• May occasionally be on a work site to move about the project.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Plumbing / construction: 7 years (Required)
