Job Summary
The Omnichannel Manager owns the day-to-day health, performance, and management of our eCommerce business, with a particular focus on ensuring that it enhances and supports our in-store experiences.
This role is accountable for the online storefront’s revenue, conversion, and customer experience — and equally accountable for how that experience connects to our physical stores: online orders for in-store pickup, ship-from-store, in-store inventory visibility online, and the flow of product across channels.
This is a hands-on operator role and a strategic one. Day to day, this role keeps the site fast, accurate, and on-brand, and keeps pickup and fulfillment operations running smoothly.
This role also carries a technical dimension: a working understanding of the systems powering our omnichannel environment, the ability to troubleshoot issues and communicate them clearly to developers, and ownership of the relationship with external developers and technology partners who build and maintain the platform.
Beyond that, this role is expected to form and defend data-backed points of view on the tensions inherent to omnichannel retail.
Key Responsibilities:
Ecommerce Ownership
- Own ecommerce revenue, conversion, average order value, and customer retention goals.
- Manage the storefront's day-to-day operations: content, merchandising, product listings, and site QA across devices/browsers.
- Coordinate with merchandising and marketing to ensure readiness for product launches, seasonal campaigns and other events throughout the year.
Omnichannel Integration
- Own and optimize BOPIS and ship-from-store programs — pickup workflows, staff processes, exception handling.
- Own inventory visibility and synchronization between eCommerce and store systems so online availability reflects real, sellable inventory.
- Manage product flow across channels, identifying and resolving bottlenecks between receiving, stockrooms, and online listing.
Analytics & Strategic Advisory
- Monitor and report on key metrics: revenue, conversion rate, AOV, CAC, LTV, cart abandonment, repeat purchase rate — both online and blended across channels.
- Analyze cross-channel customer behavior.
- Form and defend data-backed recommendations on omnichannel trade-offs (e.g., inventory allocation between store and online, fulfillment speed vs. cost) and present them to leadership.
Technical Ownership & Development Collaboration
- Maintain a working understanding of the technologies powering our omnichannel environment (platform architecture, templates, APIs, integrations) sufficient to scope issues and evaluate proposed solutions.
- Read and troubleshoot basic side code (e.g., HTML, PHP, etc.) to diagnose issues, verify fixes, and reduce back-and-forth with developers.
- Server as the primary point of contact for external developers, agencies, and technology partners on the omnichannel platform - scoping work, reviewing deliverables, and managing timelines.
- Partner with developers and vendors to plan, test, and release new features, integrations, and site improvements, including coordinating QA before releases go live.
Team & Cross-Functional
- Lead, and manage the Omnichannel team.
- Administer the eCommerce budget and manage vendor/platform relationships.
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising for consistent presentation, pricing, and promotions across channels, and to maintain understanding and compliance with vendor MAP policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of ecommerce management experience, including hands-on platform ownership (Magento or similar).
- Experience integrating online and in-store operations — BOPIS, ship-from-store, inventory sync.
- Strong command of ecommerce/site analytics (Google Analytics or similar) and comfort turning data into a defensible point of view.
- Experience with product merchandising, promotions, and customer lifecycle marketing.
- Proven ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally with store operations, merchandising, and marketing.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable making autonomous calls while bringing leadership along with the data.
- Baseline technical fluency with the technologies and communications underlying modern eCommerce platforms (e.g., HTML/CSS, PHP, APIs, integrations) - enough to troubleshoot issues, communicate clearly with developers, and evaluate technical trade-offs.
- Comfortable reading and editing code, especially to diagnose and fix issues quickly.
- Experience managing or closely collaborating with external developers, agencies, or technology vendors - scoping requests, reviewing work, and coordinating releases.
- Proficient in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite of software including Docs/Word, Slides/PowerPoint, Sheets/Excel, and Outlook/Mail (or related e-mail system) and macOS.
