Quality Control Specialist
Location: Hanscom AFB, MA
Salary: $55,000–$78,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time, 40+ hours

Doyon Government Group is seeking an early-career level construction Quality Control Specialist to support quality control and project management activities on a federal construction project at Hanscom Air Force Base.
This is an opportunity for someone interested in developing toward a Quality Control Manager or Project Manager career path. Working under the direction of the Quality Control Manager and Project Manager, you will assist with inspections, project documentation, submittals, RFIs, testing coordination, daily reporting, deficiency tracking, and project closeout.
The position provides hands-on exposure to USACE, NAVFAC, and other federal construction quality requirements while helping ensure work complies with contract drawings, specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, and project requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of the project Quality Control Plan
- Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and RFIs
- Support the Three Phases of Control for each Definable Feature of Work
- Inspect construction work and materials for contract compliance
- Coordinate required testing and special inspections
- Prepare daily quality control and production reports
- Enter and maintain information in RMS/QCS, eCMS, or other required systems
- Maintain submittal, testing, deficiency, punch list, as-built, and closeout logs
- Identify nonconforming work and track corrective actions through completion
- Coordinate with subcontractors, project teams, Government QA personnel, designers, and testing laboratories
- Route and track submittals, RFIs, material approvals, and project documentation
- Attend quality control and coordination meetings
- Record meeting minutes and track assigned action items
- Support pre-final inspections, final inspections, commissioning, turnover, and closeout
- Assist with scheduling, procurement, change documentation, and other project management activities
- Follow EM 385-1-1, OSHA, environmental, and site-specific requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of construction, project engineering, field inspection, or quality control experience
- Relevant internship or co-op experience may be considered
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and technical requirements
- Ability to accurately document inspections and field activities
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn federal construction and project management systems
- Ability to work at the project site and travel occasionally as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality control or project engineering experience on USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal construction projects
