Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery (OPCS) | Atlanta, GA

Compensation: $43–$53/hour, based on experience Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday | 2–3 surgery days per week — no nights, no weekends, no call, no holidays

As our Joint Commission-accredited surgery center continues to grow with additional surgeons and a second surgical suite, we're looking for an outstanding RN to grow with us.

About the Position

You'll serve as the primary RN and clinical leader of our office-based surgery center.

This position carries primary responsibility for the day-to-day nursing operations of the surgery center while collaborating closely with our surgeons, physician assistants, surgery scheduler, and administrative team.

Our surgery center currently operates 2–3 surgery days each week, typically caring for 4–6 healthy outpatient surgical patients undergoing monitored anesthesia care (MAC).

Our caseload includes both elective cosmetic procedures and medically necessary, insurance-based procedures. Our cosmetic patients have chosen their surgery, researched it carefully, and invested significantly in the result — and they arrive with the expectations that come with that decision. But here's what matters: at OPCS, every patient receives that same level of care. Whether someone is here for a cosmetic procedure or an insurance-covered one, they experience the same warm, polished, concierge-level nursing — calm reassurance before surgery, attentive recovery care, and communication that makes every patient feel like our only patient. Nurses who love that style of patient care will find this deeply rewarding; it's a different rhythm than hospital nursing, and it's one of the things our patients remember most.

Unlike many nursing positions, this role combines direct patient care with significant administrative responsibility.

• Preoperative nursing assessments

Non-Surgery Days

You'll oversee the administrative and clinical workflows that keep our surgery center organized, compliant, and ready for every surgical day.

Responsibilities include:

• Medical clearance and History & Physical (H&P) coordination
• Preoperative patient education
• Consent management
• One-business-day preoperative patient calls (final instructions and arrival times)
• Medication instruction review
• Nursing-related patient communication
• athenaOne document management
• Shared surgical tracking documentation
• Joint Commission compliance
• Controlled substance documentation
• Infection prevention documentation
• Medication inventory and expiration monitoring
• Crash cart readiness
• Daily equipment checks
• Maintaining a clean, organized, surgery-ready PACU
• Assisting in clinic when needed

A typical non-surgery day may include:

• Managing incoming H&Ps and medical clearances in athenaOne
• Updating shared Google Sheets that track each patient's progress through the surgical process
• Preparing and organizing Adobe PDF documents
• Responding to patient texts, messages, and voicemails through Klara
• Making preoperative patient calls through RingCentral, our phone system
• Coordinating with staff through Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Gmail, Calendar)
• Managing electronic documentation and cloud-based files throughout the day

We provide thorough training on our workflows and software. We do expect applicants to be comfortable learning new technology quickly, navigating multiple software platforms throughout the day, and independently troubleshooting routine computer tasks.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Previous PACU, Pre-Op, ASC, Office-Based Surgery, or procedural nursing experience strongly preferred
