Shifts available:
Overview: The Grocery Associate assists in the successful operation of the store by accurately managing transactions with customers with cash register, providing excellent customer service, maintaining store premises neat and clean, assist in produce, grocery, bulk and vitamin departments. Stock products as needed as needed.
Responsibilities:
1) CASHIER
a) Greet customers when entering or leaving the store, answer questions in person or over the phone, direct customers to products and resolve complaints.
b) Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate, collect payments, issue receipts, refunds or change and bag items sold.
c) Maintain clean and tidy checkout area.
d) Maintain knowledge about products, company policies, and coupons.
d) Ensure shelves are stocked and the checkout area is clean and organized.
f) Cooperate with other employees to ensure a good customer experience.
2) MERCHANDISING
a) Maintain end-caps and other in-store displays, according to established standards for appearance, variety and ease of shopping and stocking.
b) Ensure shelves/coolers/freezers are fully stocked and rotated for freshness in accordance with stocking priorities set forth by Grocery Manager.
3) CUSTOMER SERVICE
a) Assist customers with grocery and wellness questions in prompt friendly courteous manner.
b) Report grocery and wellness department customer suggestions, comments, & complaints to the Department Manager.
4) DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
a) Maintain grocery department shelves, displays, aisles and storage areas in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department and ADA standards.
b) Mark down items as needed to reduce losses, in accordance with department protocols.
d) Remove trash promptly, sweep and mop retail area floors frequently.
5) OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Perform other tasks assigned by Shift Leader, Grocery Department Manager or General Manager.
b) Assist customers in all departments, in prompt friendly courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.
c) Answer & route phone calls, take and route messages as needed.
Requirements:
