About the Position
Imperial Construction & Electric Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Construction Site Superintendent / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) / Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) to oversee a Department of Defense (DoD) construction project on a military installation.
This is a critical leadership position responsible for managing daily field operations, enforcing safety compliance, implementing the Quality Control Program, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring successful project execution in accordance with USACE, NAVFAC, DoD construction standards.
The selected candidate must be capable of performing all three roles (Triple-Hat) while maintaining strict compliance with contract requirements, EM 385-1-1, project specifications, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily construction activities on the project site.
- Supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct daily planning meetings and subcontractor coordination.
- Enforce all project safety requirements in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
- Prepare and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Conduct daily safety inspections and toolbox safety meetings.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Manage the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Program.
- Develop and maintain the Quality Control Plan.
- Perform and document the Three Phases of Control:
- Preparatory Meetings
- Initial Inspections
- Follow-Up Inspections
- Maintain quality control documentation and testing records.
- Coordinate inspections with Government Quality Assurance Representatives.
- Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Prepare daily reports using RMS/QCS or other Government-required software.
- Coordinate project closeout documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years managing federal or DoD construction projects.
- Experience working on USACE, NAVFAC, Air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, Veterans Affairs (VA), or other Federal Government construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of:
- EM 385-1-1
- FAR
- UFC requirements
- OSHA regulations
- Corps of Engineers Quality Control requirements
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- Experience using RMS/QCS software is highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must successfully pass background screening required for military base access.
