Outside Sales Representative

Banks Hardwoods, located in White Pigeon, Michigan, seeks a (full-time) sales trainee to join our Sales Team

Founded in 1985, we are a leader in the wholesale hardwood lumber industry with a highly respected international brand. We are a family-owned and operated business entering our second generation. Banks Hardwoods employs over 175 people across four locations (MI, WI, CO, OK), and we are in the process of growing by acquisition. As part of our long-term talent strategy, we are focused on strengthening every part of our organization, including our sales department.

Candidates need to be self-motivated and team-oriented. Our extensive training program will ensure your understanding of our company, industry, products, system, and provide you with a successful and fulfilling career experience. Any experience in sales, especially within the forest products industry, is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and email communication
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand customer accounts and increase sales within assigned territories
• Promote and sell hardwood lumber, value-added products, and related services by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and improve sales strategies
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed to build relationships

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, Forestry, or a related field is preferred
• Two or more years of outside sales, business development, or customer-facing experience is preferred
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, manage a sales territory, and multitask
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
• Strong organizational skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn hardwood lumber products

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
