JOB SUMMARY
The Post Harvest Associate plays a key role in the processing of harvested cannabis plants for both flower sales and oil extraction. This position is responsible for the trimming, preparation, and packaging of cannabis products while maintaining strict compliance with sanitation protocols, company policies, and state regulations. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cannabis Processing - Accurately debuck, trim (both machine and hand trim), dry, cure, grind, weigh, and package cannabis materials according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Quality Control - Perform real-time visual inspections of cannabis for quality, consistency, and compliance with product specifications.
- Trimming & Manicuring - Hand-trim flower with precision to maintain product integrity and presentation standards for retail.
- Packaging & Weighing - Measure and package cannabis products for distribution while maintaining aseptic techniques and preventing contamination.
- Quality Control & Recordkeeping - Conduct routine, real-time visual inspections of cannabis products during trimming to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with product specifications. Accurately log weights and product data to support inventory tracking, regulatory compliance, and internal quality standards.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Sanitation & Sterilization - Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, racking systems and work areas regularly to maintain segregation of materials and cleanliness standards.
- Compliance - Follow all applicable state and local laws, regulations, and company policies including safety, sanitation, security, and confidentiality protocols.
- Team Collaboration - Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit Support - Assist in preparing for inspections and audits conducted by internal teams and regulatory agencies.
- Troubleshooting - Identify and report production issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors for corrective action, identify potential solutions, implement and monitor corrective actions.
- SOP Development - Provide input on improving processes, procedures, and materials used in the post-harvest department.
- Data Accuracy - Maintain accurate batch and processing records as required by state cannabis tracking systems (e.g., METRC or equivalent).
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent Card.
- Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to follow sanitation and safety standards.
- Comfortable working with strong odors, loud noises, dust, pollen, varying temperatures and in environments requiring prolonged standing or repetitive motion.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends based on business needs.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in cannabis processing, trimming, or packaging is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
