Overview:
The Patient Financial Services Scanner/Indexer is responsible for the accurate and timely scanning and indexing of patient accounting documents. This role ensures the proper management and organization of electronic and paper documentation within the department and demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. The Scanner/Indexer also performs other patient account duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Patient Financial Services team.
Essential Duties
Document Scanning and Indexing:

Accurately scan and index patient accounting documents into the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Ensure timely and correct splitting and segmenting of multi-patient documents to maintain clarity and organization.
Mail Management:

Open and distribute all department mail appropriately, ensuring that documents are directed to the correct personnel or system.
File Management:

Maintain proper organization of paper documentation, including preparing documents for shredding.

Manage electronic and physical file storage to support easy retrieval and compliance with records management policies.
Bank Image and Deposit Posting:

Timely transmit bank image and deposit posting batches into the EHR system to ensure accurate financial records.
Other Duties:

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the Patient Financial Services team.
Non-essential Duties

Assist with various administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Support other team members with document management and scanning-related inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Preferred Experience

Experience with scanning and indexing documents is preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks.
Required Licensure/Education

High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred Education

Excellent guest relation skills, including verbal and written communication.

Proficient in Microsoft.

Proficient PC and keyboarding skills.

Strong mathematical skills to handle document and data processing accurately
