Professor Britta Glennon is seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Associate. The post-doc will be based at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania starting in Summer/Fall 2026. The ideal start date is August 1, 2026, although alternative start dates may be accommodated.

The position offers an opportunity to conduct frontier research at the intersection of immigration, innovation, and geopolitics. The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate closely with Professor Glennon on ongoing projects while also pursuing an independent research agenda. The fellow will be based at the Wharton School and affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).

The position will provide opportunities to work with large-scale administrative, bibliometric, and proprietary datasets and to engage with research questions at the intersection of innovation, labor markets, globalization, and public policy. The postdoctoral fellow will also have opportunities to engage with researchers across Wharton, the University of Pennsylvania, and the NBER.

The postdoc would be actively involved in all stages of the research process. Responsibilities may include collaborating on ongoing research projects and developing new research initiatives; conducting empirical analyses using large-scale administrative, survey, bibliometric, and proprietary datasets; presenting research findings at seminars, workshops, and conferences; helping to coordinate research assistants and data-related project activities. The position is designed to support both collaborative and independent scholarship. The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate closely with Professor Glennon on ongoing projects while also maintaining substantial time to advance their own research agenda, including the publication of dissertation chapters and the development of new projects.

Applicants should have completed, or expect to complete before the start date, a PhD in Economics, Public Policy, Management, or a related social science discipline. Applicants whose research interests overlap with immigration, innovation, science and technology policy, international economics, geopolitics, economic geography, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year contingent on performance and mutual agreement. There are no teaching responsibilities associated with this position.
