As we continue expanding our presence in Texas and the Gulf Coast region, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong geotechnical or deep foundation background to lead our growth efforts in the Houston market.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and positioning Tri-State Civil Construction as the preferred specialty contractor for geotechnical and deep foundation projects.
This individual should have a strong understanding of the geotechnical construction industry and be comfortable discussing technical solutions with consulting engineers, owners, and general contractors. The ideal candidate has an established network within the Texas construction market and enjoys building relationships while helping clients solve complex foundation challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan for the Houston and Gulf Coast region.
- Build and maintain relationships with geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, general contractors, developers, public agencies, and owners.
- Identify and pursue opportunities involving deep foundations, drilled shafts, micropiles, CPA, driven piles, earth retention systems, ground improvement, and other specialty foundation solutions.
- Meet with engineering firms during project design to position Tri-State as a preferred specialty contractor and technical resource.
- Track upcoming projects through market intelligence, industry contacts, and bidding platforms.
- Coordinate with estimating, operations, and executive leadership to develop winning pursuit strategies.
- Assist in preparing technical presentations, qualifications packages, and client proposals.
- Represent Tri-State Civil Construction at industry conferences, trade associations, networking events, and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, project management, estimating, or engineering within the geotechnical, deep foundation, or heavy civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of specialty foundation systems and geotechnical construction methods.
- Existing relationships with consulting engineers, General Contractors and developers/owners in the Texas market are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
- Willingness to travel throughout Texas and neighboring states as needed.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
