Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the key driver in preparing accurate project estimates by analyzing project documents, calculating material and labor costs, and collaborating closely with our sales and project management teams to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining the highest standards of quality and value on every project. This role is well suited for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate roofing project estimates using construction estimating/takeoff software such as Estimating Edge and Xactimate.
• Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine scope of work and identify potential challenges.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary data for precise pricing, including measuring, noting variables of the roof site. This may require multiple visits to project site.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to develop competitive bids that align with project goals.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing to secure the best terms while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify cost trends to assist with cost reduction and processes of improvement.
• Prepare detailed and clear proposals for clients.
• Assist in contract review and ensure all proposals adhere to company policies, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and pre-bid walkthroughs.
• Support project management by providing cost analysis, budget tracking, and value engineering recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.

Qualifications

• A comprehensive understanding and ability to accurately analyze blueprints and specifications
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in construction estimating within the commercial roofing industry.
• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Suite, roofing CRM software, takeoff software and Xactimate is required.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, cost control, and pricing strategies.
• Ability to prepare highly effective proposals and business correspondence.
• Experience with preparing bid packets.
• Knowledge of construction management principles and project management practices.
• Willingness to travel and work with a diverse client/customer base.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in the extreme Texas weather conditions.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer and reviewing plans.
• Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, grasp and climb ladders.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours a week when needed.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
