TAB Technician
PEBL is an NEBB.ORG certified firm specializing in professional testing and inspection of small to large scale commercial HVAC systems. Centrally located in San Antonio, Texas, PEBL provides its professional services across the country. We are here to TEST ADJUST BALANCE HVAC systems for buildings to optimal performance. We want the users to have a healthy environment to work. We use our knowledge and expertise to understand the design intent and setup HVAC systems to operate to the engineered design.
Key Results Area – TAB Technician
Work Hours: 7:00 am – 4:05 pm
Jobsites
- Perform testing on HVAC equipment in building construction environments (measuring grille and duct airflow, system pressures, waterflow measurements and hydronic pressures, etc.)
- Carry ladders and equipment
- Work starts at 7:00 am sharp
- Gather the day’s equipment and be ready to depart for project sites by 7:20 am
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members
- Document test data and observations on phone application (daily personal phone use is built into the hourly compensation rate.)
- Learn standard TAB procedures and work with a team to complete fieldwork
- Rely on job experience to initiate next procedural steps unprompted (be proactive when the team leader is busy)
- Aid other team members with fulfilling tasks as is helpful on a short-term basis
- Read and interpret construction plans
- Follow instructions from team leaders
- Will utilize their own vehicle for transporting ladders and instrumentation to jobsites (mileage is reimbursed at the rate provided by the IRS)
- Maintain and use a set of personally owned tools (pen, flashlight, electrician screwdriver, 6-in-1 screwdriver, channel-lock pliers, tape measure, Allen wrench set, small socket set)
- Travel for all out-of-town projects (per diem provided)
- Be available for after-hours projects in evenings, nights, and weekends
Office
- Care for and maintain testing instrumentation
- Eager to grow understanding of HVAC systems
- Take care of the equipment (careful and considerate use of instrumentation and charging of equipment used that day)
- Prepare field-ready testing forms and schematics for projects (Spreadsheets, Word Documents, Bluebeam)
- Enter final report cover document data for current and finished projects (fill in template information, equipment lists, include deficiencies and notations)
