Power Platform Developer (Power Apps / Power BI) — SharePoint Online | Secret Clearance
Location: Onsite, 5 days/week — Alexandria, VA
Type: Full-time
About the Role
We're seeking a talented Power Platform Developer with an active Secret clearance to design, build, and maintain low-code business applications and reporting solutions for our client, full-time and onsite at Alexandria, VA. This role centers on the Microsoft Power Platform — building canvas and model-driven apps in Power Apps, automating workflows with Power Automate, and delivering analytics and dashboards through Power BI — on top of a SharePoint Online (SPO) foundation provided through DISA.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable architecting a Power App against Dataverse or a SharePoint list, writing DAX measures and Power Query transformations for an executive dashboard, and standing up the SPO site structure and permissions that everything runs on. You'll work directly with the client to translate records-management requirements into scalable, maintainable, government-compliant solutions, and provide the technical support, documentation, and training to keep them running.
What You'll Do
Power Apps & Power Automate
Design and build canvas and model-driven applications that streamline Records and Information Management (RIM) processes for the Records and Declassification Division (RDD)
Architect data layers across Dataverse and SharePoint lists/libraries, applying delegation-aware patterns to keep apps performant at scale
Automate document routing, approvals, notifications, and lifecycle tasks with Power Automate flows, including connections to SharePoint, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 services
Build and manage custom and standard connectors; handle error handling, retry logic, and environment promotion (dev → test → prod) using solutions
Power BI & Reporting
Develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that give RDD and WHS-serviced Components visibility into records inventory, retention status, and compliance metrics
Model data and write DAX measures; build repeatable ETL with Power Query against SharePoint, SQL Server, and other sources
Configure refresh schedules, row-level security, and workspace governance appropriate to a controlled environment
SharePoint Online (Supporting Platform)
Configure and customize the DISA-provided SPO environment to host RDD's RIM-compliant site — site architecture, content types, metadata, libraries, retention/labels, and permissions
Customize the user experience with SPFx, JSON column/view formatting, and Power Apps-embedded forms
Prepare and support migration from RDD's shared drives into the RIM-compliant SPO site, partnering with DoD network and SPO administrators to troubleshoot network- and migration-related issues
Enablement & Documentation
Develop training, guidance, and turnkey products that help WHS-serviced Components stand up their own RIM-compliant SPO sites
Draft and maintain SOPs, desktop guidance, and configuration documentation
Provide ongoing expertise, maintenance, and program development for RDD's RIM-compliant SPO site
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance (required)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
2+ years building solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
Hands-on Power Apps experience with canvas and/or model-driven apps and Dataverse or SharePoint as a data source
Power BI experience including DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling
Working knowledge of SharePoint Online configuration and customization
Front-end fundamentals: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, and jQuery
Familiarity with SQL Server, MS Access, and relational data concepts
Strong Microsoft 365 / Office suite proficiency
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and manage work independently
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable in a client-facing onsite role
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PnP, or the SharePoint/Graph REST APIs
