Position Description:

Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal or plastic work pieces.

Key Responsibilities :

• Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measures, gauges or micrometers.
• Observe machine operations to detect any problems; make necessary adjustments to correct problems.
• Activate machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications.
• Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal or plastic work pieces.
• Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them in hoppers or on machine tables, faceplates, or chucks, using clamps.
• Measure workpieces and lay out work, using precision measuring devices.
• Follows all company Quality and Safety procedures at all times and reports any unsafe conditions.
• Performs all essential duties and any other duties assigned by his supervisor

Position Requirements:

• Previous experience with surface grinders, Blanchard grinders
• Must be able to read write and interpret English language
• Must be able to read tape measures and micrometers.
• Must be able to interpret and understand basic math including fractions and decimals
• Must be able to pass company forklift and overhead crane training course.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
