Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Nurse to join our healthcare team as a dedicated RT Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including working with diverse patient populations such as geriatrics and individuals with developmental disabilities. The candidate will provide high-quality patient care in both long-term and short term care, including hospice patients. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as PCC. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through expert nursing care and compassionate support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out and documeting Respiratory Therapy (RT) treatments orders
• Inform and communicate with the Director of RT of all matters related to patients under RT case load
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories
• Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders
• Perform catheterizations, and sterile procedures with adherence to aseptic techniques
• Manage airway care, such as suctioning, and tube feeding as required
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/PCC systems)
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection.
• Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or behavioral health issues
• Support discharge planning and coordinate post-acute or outpatient care services
• Educate patients and families on health management strategies including pain management, nutrition, and medication adherence
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and documentation standards compliant with HIPAA regulations
• Skilled in performing complex procedures including suture removal, and sterile processing techniques
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as PCC, Cerner, for accurate documentation and order entry
• Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to recognize critical changes in condition promptly
• Effective communication skills for working with patients and their families
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety protocols in long-term and post-acute environments
• Compassionate caregiver with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
