Senior Electrical Engineer, PE
Position Overview
A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer, PE to lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, healthcare, education, institutional, industrial, and mission critical projects. This individual will serve as a technical leader, manage projects and client relationships, and mentor junior engineering staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee electrical systems for building projects from concept through construction
- Prepare power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and low-voltage system designs
- Perform engineering calculations, load studies, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies
- Develop construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and other project stakeholders
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and support construction administration efforts
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Serve as a client-facing representative and technical resource
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience within the AEC industry
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, and building electrical systems
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
