Job Title: Cashier

About the Role:

We are seeking a friendly and skilled cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a retail cashier role and be capable of frequent lifting and carrying of merchandise. In this position, you will play a key role in wrapping up our customers' shopping experience by providing quick, friendly, and precise service. Your responsibilities include directly interacting with customers, addressing their questions, handling transactions, and ensuring their visit ends on a positive note.

Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar role in sales.
• Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g., cash register, scanners, money counters).
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Customer satisfaction-oriented.
• Attention to detail and mathematical skills.
• Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to handle complaints and difficult situations.
• Patience when dealing with difficult customers.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for sale of alcohol and tobacco products

Preferred:

• Previous cash handling and customer service experience.
• Valid but not required state of Hawaii Liquor card -Preferably possess a Liquor card

Responsibilities WILL include but NOT limited to:

• Handle cash, credit, and check transactions with customers.
• Scan goods and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Greet customers as they enter and thank them as they leave.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
• Resolve customer complaints and provide information on promotions, return policies, and product details.
• Keep reports of transactions.
• Process exchanges and refunds.
• Bag, box or wrap packages as required.
• Participate in inventory tasks, including stocking and price changes as needed.

Work Location: In Person - On-site

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
